Advanced Ikebana Workshop Weekend
Ikebana & flower Installation workshop weekend hosted at BRAER studio, Byron Bay.
In collaboration with Flower Club, Braer Studio, and esteemed Sogetsu Ikebana instructor Sandra Marker, we invite you to explore the delicate balance of nature, beauty, and simplicity.
This weekend workshop is tailored for floral artists, designers, and professionals who want to improve their floral design and installation skills. The event will feature workshops to enhance your abilities and conclude with a final collaborative installation. We'll wrap up with a celebration event, where the public is invited to see your work as an exhibition. Your work will be captured by a professional photographer, and images will be distributed following the event for your use in your portfolios.

Weekend Schedule
Saturday 30th November

10am-12pm: Ikebana Advanced Workshop: Begin the weekend with a mini masterclass in Ikebana techniques. Create your ikebana arrangement with guidance using local materials

2pm-5pm: Installation Workshop (Part I): Work individually on your own arrangements which will feature as part of the collaborative piece. Photographs captured of your work from day one.
Sunday 1st December

10am-1pm: Installation Workshop (Part II): Work collaboratively to create the communal installation piece using advanced techniques and special local materials

2pm-4pm: Critique, photography and question time

4pm-6pm: Exhibition / Celebration party (open to the public + friends & family)

No need to bring anything. We will provide all necessary materials and tools. Just bring yourself and be ready to explore the beauty of Ikebana.

Julia Rush, Flower Club Int: Julia Rush is a qualified Sogetsu Ikebana Teacher, and founder of Flower Club Int. Flower Club Int is a community who love flowers – we do events together online and around the world. It is also the home of ‘ikebana club’ a group that meets online to develop their ikebana skills from anywhere in the world. Julia is experienced in running Ikebana workshops all around the world and creating a welcoming environment for beginners and experienced.

Azzmin Frances, Braer Studio: Nestled in the heart of Byron Bay, Braer Studio is a flower shop / gallery heralding the beauty of nature at its core. Azzmin is the founder and florist running this space which is primarily used for workshops and as a floral studio. Azzmin has years of experience working with locally grown flowers and creating installations for clients.

Sandy Marker: A renowned Sogetsu Ikebana teacher at the highest level (Riji), Sandy brings her extensive knowledge and passion for the art of Japanese flower arrangement to this workshop. With years of experience, she will guide you through the intricacies of Ikebana, ensuring a memorable and educational experience.
