In Things to Put Flowers In, and On, Northern Rivers–based designer George Davies presents a collection of sculptural vessels and surfaces in dialogue with floral arrangement and domestic ritual. Rooted in her background as an interior and product designer, the works explore form, function, and emotional resonance—offering not just containers for flowers, but objects that reframe the act of placement itself.

Through a non-linear process of drawing, material testing, conversation, and experimentation, Davies creates pieces that are both deliberate and intuitive. Each work is shaped by an honest materiality—timber, clay, stone—and a desire to elicit feeling through quiet gestures of design. Her objects speak to the weight of the handmade, the memory held in materials, and the poetry of arrangement.

This exhibition reflects a shared sensibility between George Davies and Braer: an interest in how we live with objects, and how thoughtful design can create space for beauty, care, and attention in the everyday.
