Farm Visit - White Cottage Flower Farm

by Taylor Priebe

One of our favourite farms to visit has always been White Cottage. Mandy & Hamish have tenderly created an oasis in the otherwise grassy lands of Tenterfield. Tenterfield is located 2.5 hours inland from the coast - a swift & peaceful drive. Watching the land quickly change while gaining elevation lends an otherworldly oasis.

Tenterfield holds a subtropical highland climate with warm summers, and cool crisp winters. Spring is our favourite time to visit as flowering plum and blossom can be found on many corners.

On arrival you're greeted by the warmth of Mandy and Hamish as well as their three schnauzers who gate keep the property. A short walk around the farm reveals the delicate care Mandy and Hamish have given to every variety. Blossoms, Roses, Peonies, dogwood, sweet pea, aquilegia, hellebore, clematis, may bush, crabapple and roses

Every corner of the garden is filled with different botanical delights. As the seasons get warmer the outdoor grown garden roses are rich with fragrance. Varieties that make you weak at the knees like 'Jude The Obscure' or 'Ash Wednesday'. In high summer the garden is bursting with bright rows of dahlias and summer grasses.

"Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of the earth.”
― Henry David Thoreau

Thank you Many and Hamish for the beautiful blooms used for the recent spring time weddings.
Grown delicately with love, for love.
