Jacqui Sos is a ceramic artist practicing in Mullumbimby on Bundjalung country. She creates work finished in Obvara and Raku techniques. She practices Ikebana and creates vases with flowers in mind. 

Jacqui has a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma in Education along with a Diploma in Ceramics at Lismore TAFE and an Advanced Diploma in Visual Arts, majoring in ceramics.

Obvara is a 12th Century raku firing technique using only fermented flour, water, milk or beer. It was developed in the Baltic region of Eastern Europe (Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus) when a vessel was probably standing by a fire and then rolled into a slops bucket containing fermented waste.
